Emily Abendroth
Emily Abendroth is a writer and artist living in Philadelphia, where she regularly teaches literature, critical theory, poetics, the contemporary essay, and creative writing. She is the co-founder of a grassroots educational project called Address This! that offers social-justice focused correspondence courses to individuals incarcerated throughout the state of Pennsylvania. She was the recipient of a 2013 Pew Fellowship in Poetry and has enjoyed artist residencies at MacDowell, the Nebraska Art Farm, and the Millay Colony. Her poetry book, Exclosures, was published by Ahsahta Press in May 2014. Her poetic works are often published in limited edition, handcrafted chapbooks by micropresses such as Albion Press (Philadelphia), Horse Less Press (Colorado), Little Red Leaves (Texas), and Zumbar Press (San Francisco).
